You’re in the ocean, you look over to the mess behind you of floating luggage and the airplane that you were just on slowly sinking underneath the cold, moonlit water. As you look around you notice that all the remaining passengers are squeezed tightly onto a rescue raft. You look around some more and you see a piece of land a few hundred yards away. You have two options (click option):

  1. You try and make room for yourself on the raft and stay with the group

OR

  1. You swim to the nearby land

You decide to swim to the nearby land. Once you make it there, you don’t know what to do and you start to regret not getting on the raft. But there’s no time to sulk! It is dark, cold and you are drenched. You must do what you need to to survive these conditions. After assessing the situation you determine three options of what to do next (click option):

  1. You start screaming for help and looking for people

OR

  1. You look around for food and a source of water

OR

  1. You start a fire

You decided to start a fire. This was the best choice because it will keep you warm, dry your clothes and provide a source of light in case you hear a predator. After setting up your fire you dose off of the sand.

You are awakened by the sunrise and the sound of the waves crashing. After collecting yourself you decide that the best thing to do is to look around. Hopefully you find civilization or some materials to help increase your chance of survival.

After walking around for about an hour you are starving, weak and dehydrated. You didn’t find any people but you find three things that could be helpful. Since you are so weak you are only capable of bringing one of these things back to your site. You can bring back (click option):

  1. A group of vines that are sturdy enough to act like rope

OR

  1. A rock with a sharp edge

OR

  1. Three coconuts

You chose to grab the coconuts. This was the right choice because coconuts are a good source of protein and they provide water. When you get back to the site you are enjoying the flavors and satisfying nutrition the coconut has to offer. You start to think, “maybe life here isn’t so bad.” Your fantasy of becoming an isolated islander who’s dependent on the resources the land has to offer is quickly interrupted by the familiar sound of a fog horn. You leap up out of your seat to see where the sound was coming from and you spot a cruise ship on the horizon. You have two options (click option):

  1. Yell until someone on the cruise ship sees in hopes to be rescued

OR

  1. Don’t even bother. Life has been good here, plus, they’re so far away they’d never hear you

You make the decision to not waste your breath and let the cruise ship pass by without trying to get it’s attention. You spend the next few months living on the island gathering coconuts for food and occasionally catching fish with the makeshift fishing pole you made from sticks and vines. Life is good until one day you notice that the wind is much more hasty than it is normally. You look up to notice a yellow sky and grey clouds; there is a hurricane coming. To prepare you gather food and make shelter out of sticks and palm leaves but it is no good. You are not prepared enough to face such a store and eventually you succumb to the conditions.
